Isolated compounds from Kigelia africana stem bark extract against Mycobacterium tuberculosis: Insights into In-silico studies
    (Royal Society of Chemistry, 2026-06-25) Onen, Patrick; Achiro,M.; Nanyonga,S.K.; Akampurira, D.; Tumwesigye R.; Ocira, D.; Otema, T.; Gumula, I.
In this present study, we aimed to; 1.Isolate, characterize and elucidate the structures 2.Carryout In-silico analyses to investigate the potential anti- mycobacterial activity of known compounds isolated from K. africana stem bark against key M. tuberculosis, Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) targets.

Transformation of agricultural waste into nutraceutical and pharmaceutical products with the aid of In-silico methods
(Royal Society of Chemistry, 2026-06-25) Tumwesigye, R.; Akello, R.O.; Akampurira, D.; Asiimire, B.; Kikonyogo, I.
This project transforms Ugandan agricultural waste, such as pineapple and soursop residues, into valuable nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals. By combining green chemistry, LC-MS/MS & GC-MS/MS analysis with in-silico molecular docking and toxicity profiling, we identify bioactive compounds with high therapeutic potential. This sustainable, circular model provides a scalable, cost-effective framework for drug discovery, offering an affordable approach to health innovation that aligns with global sustainability goals.
