The study sought to establish the relevance of VET as a pathway for integration of War Veterans into South Sudan civil society. The objectives of the study were to establish types of vocational trades for the training of war veterans in Juba County; to examine the most relevant trades in the world of work in Juba County; to suggest ways in which war veterans will benefit from VET in Juba County and to identify the sources of funding for training of war veterans in Juba County. The researcher used descriptive and explorative research designs in order to bring forth scientific data. In this study, the researcher employed interview guides for individuals, observation checklists, focus group discussion and documentary analysis. The data analysis process constituted transcription of field data and coding to form themes following the objectives of the study. Researcher then presented and interpreted the coded data and finally discussed the findings based on personal reflection and interpretation with backing of scholarly views. The study established that construction, agriculture, auto-mechanic, electrical installations and maintenance, metal fabrication and welding, brick and block laying and concrete practice, carpentry, plumbing and fitting are the types of vocational trades relevant for training of war veterans in Juba County. The most relevant vocational trades for capacity building of war veterans according to the demand of the world of work are construction, agriculture and auto-mechanic. Though, these two vocational trades appear to be in high demand, the other trades are relevant too as the South Sudan is in need of various vocational skills. The finding revealed that war veterans would benefit from VET by improving their economic situation, helping to eliminate the culture of dependability, restoration of the hope and dignity of the war veterans. VET will help war veterans benefit economically, socially and politically, and it will give them the opportunity to acquire employable skills to sustain their life and families. Capacity building of war veterans demands a lot of money for the procurement of machineries, equipment, tools and training materials and construction of huge workshops and hostels for accommodation and payment of instructors. Therefore, it requires the participation of NGOs, government institutions and the community to support capacity building of war veterans financially. The researcher concluded that, integration of war veterans into the civil society will become automatic if their capacity is built through vocational education and training. The researcher recommends that government should establish Vocational Training Institutions that will carter for the war veterans. Government should allocate sufficient budget annually for capacity building of war veterans. Government should establish Construction Companies, agricultural farms and develop modern garages for war veterans.en_US
