Consequently, in many countries, the assessment and enhancement of quality have become critical issues for higher education. In Uganda, since 2006 when the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) developed the Quality Assurance Framework for Ugandan Universities, it became mandatory for all higher education institutions to have appropriate and effective internal structures and mechanisms for monitoring quality control procedures in their institutions. To meet this requirement for quality, the term “Quality Assurance” has become indispensable in higher education management.
