Jonathan, Kaula Haggai
The study was a correlational quantitative analysis of the relationship between technology usage, face to face communication and romantic partner relationships, using a case of the Uganda police force. The study was underpinned by the couple and family technology theoretical framework by (Hertlein & Blumer, 2014). The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between the variables and assess the predictive potential of technology usage and face to face communication on romantic partner relationship. Three hundred twenty seven police officers were sampled for the study and data was collected using self-administered questionnaires. Findings show that there was a positive relationship between technology usage and face-to-face communication, (r=.069, p>.212). This suggested that positive changes in technology usage were related to positive changes in face-to-face communication. The study also showed that there was a significant positive relationship between face-to-face communication, (r= .424, p< .01).
This suggests that positive changes in face-to-face communication do significantly increase romantic partner relationship. The study went ahead to show that there was a significant positive relationship between technology usage and romantic partner relationship, (r= .191, p< .01). This suggests that positive use of technology usage leads to an increase in romantic partner relationships significantly. The study also showed that technology usage and face-to-face communication had a 20.1 % predictive potential on romantic partner relationships meaning that the other 79 .9 % was predicted by other factors.

2019-11-01T00:00:00ZParental involvement, parent socioeconomic status, and primary school children’s literacy achievement: a case of Mbale district in UgandaNoirine, Khaitsahttps://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12504/11902023-05-24T00:37:57Z2022-09-01T00:00:00ZParental involvement, parent socioeconomic status, and primary school children’s literacy achievement: a case of Mbale district in Uganda

The purpose of the study was to establish the relationship between parental
involvement, parent socioeconomic status, and primary school children’s literacy
achievement. The objectives of this study included; to assess the relationship between
parental involvement and primary school children’s literacy achievement; to examine the
relationship between parent socioeconomic status and primary school children’s literacy
achievement; to examine the relationship between parent socioeconomic status and parental
involvement; to examine the predictive potential of parental involvement and parent
socioeconomic status on primary school children’s literacy achievement and to establish the
mediating effect of parent socioeconomic status in the relationship between parental
involvement and primary school children’s literacy achievement. The researcher used a crosssectional
descriptive research design where both qualitative and quantitate approaches were
employed to analyze data. The main study consisted of 425 primary school pupils from
Mbale district. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, and cross tabulations. Pearson
correlation coefficient was utilized to derive an association among the study variables and
findings were presented in pie diagrams and bar graphs and frequency tables. A multiple
linear regression analysis to establish the prediction potential of parental involvement and
parent socioeconomic status on primary school children’s literacy achievement was
employed. Confirmation of mediation of Hypothesis five was done using Hayes process
model (Hayes, 2017). The study revealed that showed that a weak significant positive
relationship existed between parental involvement and primary school children’s literacy
achievement in Mbale district (r = .219, p≤0.01); a weak significant positive relationship
existed between parent socioeconomic status and primary school children’s literacy
achievement in Mbale district (r = .290, p≤0.01); a weak significant negative degree of
association existed between parent socioeconomic status and parental involvement in Mbale
district (r =-.158, p≤0.01). Results in the regression analysis revealed that a combination of
predictor variables parental involvement and parent socioeconomic status accounted for
15.1% (adjusted R square =.151) variation in primary school children’s literacy achievement.
Based on the findings, there’s need to improve primary children’s literacy achievement. This
can be done through schools and other development workers working together with
professional counselors to respectfully encourage parents and care givers to fully participate
in the education process of their children as well as supporting parents and caregivers to
improve their family socioeconomic status since it has been noted to affect a children’s
literacy achievement.

The study aimed at establishing the relationship between leader member exchange,
employee creativity and employee engagement. This research was situated in a quantitative
approach and adopted a cross sectional survey design. This survey design was adopted because
the researcher intended to come up with an accurate description of findings that reflect the facts
about the topic at one point in time. This research plan was also chosen because it enabled the
researcher to collect and analyse data and make meaningful recommendations from the research
objectives. Results obtained showed that there is a significant positive relationship (r = .189, P ≤.
01) between leader member exchange and employee engagement. The study, further, discovered a
statistically significant positive relationship (r = 0.371, P≤.01) between employee creativity and
engagement. Findings also revealed that there was a significant positive relationship (r = 0.273, P ≤
.01) between employee creativity and leader member exchange. Similarly, results revealed that leadermember
connection raised predictive power of employee engagement by 3.6% (R Square Change =
0.036) implying that leader-member exchange is a significant predictor of staff engagement. The
researcher concluded that there are significant positive relationships between variables and a strong
mediation effect of creativity on engagement. Finally, the researcher recommended that managers of
manufacturing firms should put their first priority on employee creativity as it indicated high
contribution to employee engagement.

Marital satisfaction is important as an indicator of a marriage’s quality and its likelihood to meet
the needs of the couple and their family. Inability to balance Work with Family Life may affect
marital satisfaction. Changes in work conditions and life roles influenced by various economic,
social and cultural factors had increased marital discord, spousal abuse and divorce rates in
Nakawa division, KCCA. This study set out to examine how work-life balance and
communication influenced marital satisfaction. The study assessed levels of work-life balance,
communication and marital satisfaction. the degree to which work-life balance influenced marital
satisfaction and how communication would modify the relationship between work-life balance
and marital satisfaction among couples in Nakawa Division. The study adopted a cross-sectional
correlational survey design where data was collected using a structured self-administered
questionnaire among 372 married couples from various walks of life. The findings indicated that
couples in Nakawa had good WLB and marital satisfaction. They got quality time from work
and other life roles and met their marital roles. Despite their busy work schedules, respondents
had good relations, made family decisions together and strove to meet each other’s emotional,
sexual and material needs. Work-life balance had a significantly positive relationship and
predicted marital satisfaction, (β =.43, p<.001). So, balancing work and other life roles led to
better marital relations and marital bliss. Communication contributed (R2 Change = 0.42) more
to the predictive potential of WLB on, MS, implying that good communication increases marital
satisfaction. The influence of WLB on marital satisfaction can be enhanced through
interventions that target improved communication among couples. Professional marital
counselors and religious institutions should strengthen marital communication skills training for
working couples. .
